Unit test fails with gcc 3.4

Reported by: menal Owned by: mjs
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: Osi Base Class Version: 0.95.2
Keywords: exception handling failure, --fomit-frame-pointer Cc:

Description

The Osi unit test currently fails with gcc 3.4, apparently because of a bug in gcc 3.4. The problem is in OsiRowCutTest?.cpp through the lines 286-293: the exception handling block (didn't check if there are more in other files). Somehow it terminates instead of catching the exception. It works fine with debugging option enabled, though.

  • Keywords exception handling failure --fomit-frame-pointer added

From past experience, I'm pretty sure the issue here is the --fomit-frame-pointer flag specified in the optimised build. The debug build doesn't use this flag, hence doesn't see the problem. See the BuildTools current issues page.

Really, this is a BuildTools? issue. There are other unit tests with the same problem. I'm going to close this ticket.
