Description

Hi CBC Team,

I have some difficulty in building CBC1.2 with Cygwin/cl.

Here is PATH setting of my system:

CYGWIN_NT-5.1 1.5.24(0.156/4/2) 2007-01-31 10:57 WINDOWS XP

Some basic PATH settings: PATH=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\BIN; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\bin; C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\VCPackages INCLUDE=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\INCLUDE; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Include LIB = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\LIB; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\lib; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Lib

I first try configure CBC with ./configure -C CXX=cl, but got the following error message: checking for Fortran libraries of g77... checking for dummy main to link with Fortran libraries... none checking for Fortran name-mangling scheme... configure: error: cannot compile a simple Fortran program See `config.log' for more details. configure: error: /bin/sh './configure' failed for CoinUtils?

Then I tried option: ./configure --enable-doscompile=msvc I passed configure but failed at make with error messages in the log file attached to this ticket.

Could you please help me find out what went wrong?

Thanks,

Wayne

The problem actually lies in path setting. We are still looking for good solution. The tentative solution will be posted in the upcoming user manual for Optimization Services.
